Pete and Colleen Minchau come together to provide a level of service that you may not be familiar with nowadays. They have combined their experience, expertise and years of business knowledge to offer a team of professionals who will exceed your expectations. Whether it is sales and service, custom design consultation, skilled craftsmanship or enjoyment of your finished product, they are dedicated to ensuring their clients are completely satisfied.
Colleen’s family came to Kelowna in 1910, and began her lineage of small business in their family. Her Grandparents Vic and Anne Fowler built and operated Crossroads Supply General Store on the corner of Old Vernon Rd and Rutland Rd originally. Vic and Anne often supported the community in the war times, with charity of groceries, goodwill and friendship. Colleen’s Dad Russ Light was a CNCP Railway telegraph boy as a teenager and then opened one of the first travel agencies in Kelowna in 1956. Colleen followed in his footsteps in 1977 and spent 37 years in travel, with the last years being an owner and operator of her small business Light Travel in the Rutland area. Since 2010, Colleen has partnered with Pete, to bring her passion for small business to their Black Mountain Sunrooms, Windows & Glass. She was taught by the Old Timers, what customer service really means, and is committed to stick to that standard.
Pete is well, an artist and a creative genius. Pete grew up in the lower mainland and began working very young building windows, then being taught in the construction business. Everything from glass & aluminum, to steel studs, to the drywall industry. In the 2000’s Pete moved to Kelowna, met Colleen and they married. He supervised a local glazing shop, until they decided to move out on their own. Having spent the last 15 yrs in Kelowna with a vast experience in the sunrooms, windows, glass and aluminum business, he continues to amaze and please their customers with their wide range of needs and wants.
Pete and Colleen have old fashioned values. They honour and respect their customers and they keep their word by operating in integrity and honesty. They offer a high level of customer service and quality of workmanship. They love what they do, and they love being able to help their community. They have a heart for helping, by always giving a portion of what they earn to charitable projects, and people who are in need. They are known for going over and above in many instances. They remain Black Mountain Sunrooms, Windows & Glass where ‘Their Word is the difference!’.
"My company was recently awarded a large commercial deck & stair railing contract that was 2 hours travel time from Kelowna. I knew I needed someone with the necessary expertise to take charge of the installation of these railings. The call went out to Pete at Black Mtn. Sunrooms......We found Pete to be very reliable in doing the job; he always followed through with what he said he was going to do. His work was top notch. I wouldn't hesitate to have Pete being involved with any of our future endeavours."

"We wish to thank you for the services you provided at our home. The workmanship was top notch, the situation more than pleasant and everything was explained step by step. The service was prompt and finished without delays. You installed a windbreak glass wall on our deck, which is just perfect. A year later we had you install a large skylight in our dining room and with your wonderful suggestion of making it to look like the kitchen skylight was a brilliant idea. A lot of ceiling work but the project turned out excellent. Then you suggested that you would be willing to do the kitchen skylight by scraping the popcorn stucco, which we agreed to and it has turned out super. We have had many comments on both skylights from friends who have seen it. Thank you for suggesting that we paint the inside of the skylight yellow rather than white. We have been most pleased with your attitude, workmanship and professionalism."

We appreciated your expertise, advice, and honesty. After meeting Peter and Colleen, we knew instantly that after months of searching, we finally found a company that we could trust. Being a business owner myself, I had specific expectations. You exceeded these! We chose you and your company- Black Mountain Sunrooms, Windows and Glass because we had complete confidence that the job would get done right. You are worth every penny!"

"Pete came to do a job for us a few years back, his work was excellent, when I needed some railings to be added to help my husband down the steps; he was the first person I called. I now need a small deck done in the back and again I got Pete. I trust him, his work is very good, and he helps with suggestions. I am now alone and still feel very comfortable having Pete work here. I am sure I have a few jobs for Pete down the road. No one should hesitate in hiring Pete."

"I wish we had known of Black Mountain Sunrooms when we built our sunroom. Fortunately Peter of Black Mountain Sunrooms came to the aid of our sunroom builder and managed to get our project on track. If it wasn't for Peter we would never have had it completed in time nor would it have been built to the standards we expected. Over the past year, anytime we have had a problem with our sunroom we called Black Mountain Sunrooms and they always came through for us. No problem was too big nor too small. They are very neat and tidy and meticulous in attention to detail. My husband and I strongly recommend them. In fact we have referred them to several others."
